Monday, May 26, 2025 - Water Tote Placement Update

Image
As you can see, water totes are beginning to populate the garden. We have been working at pressure washing and modifying them for use in the garden. We apologize for the delays, but we have been plagued by labour disruptions, equipment malfunctions, and inclement weather, but we have persevered! You may wonder why they appear to be placed in such a random and haphazard way. The answer is that all our services are first-come-first-served, or also known as first-to-pay, first-to-get. The totes were placed in the order of which they were requested. To date, we have placed and filled totes on plots # 76, 74, 75, 80, 73, 32, 51, 52, 50, 57, 59, 60, 19, 20, 27, 44, 61, and 65. Keep watching the garden as we place more totes this week!

Sunday, May 18, 2025 - Why is There Orange Flagging Tape on my Post?

Image
In preparation for placing water totes in the garden, we have identified the placement area by flagging certain posts in the garden. Each post that has been flagged will have a water tote with a wooden pallet base placed on either side of that post. This is so that you will leave room for the tote and not plant anything in that area.

Friday, May 16, 2025 - Frost and Rain Report

Old Man Winter is still toying with us, not wanting to go into retirement just yet. It was -2°C last night at 11pm (Thursday), and stayed that way until 6am today (Friday). Probably don’t want to transplant those seedlings just yet. Over the last few days, we have received a total of about 10 hours of very light rain. We don’t have the rain gauge installed just yet, so cannot tell you any amount. All I can say is that the rain was strong enough to cause us to stop working outside.
