NOTE: We do not pay cash. We pay by cheque twice a month.

Small family owned farm requires a full time labourer to work on our farm in Ardrossan. We are located 13 kms east of Edmonton on Hwy 16. This is an entry-level position and we realize that some training may be required.

You will possess the following qualifications:

·         Legally entitled to work in Canada (no LMIA available

·         Possess reliable transportation (no bus service)

·         Able to work without supervision

·         Are mechanically minded and possess basic carpentry skills

·         Able to use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently

·         Capable of repeatedly lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs / 23 kgs

·         Speak, read and write English


Your duties will require that you WORK OUTSIDE on a daily basis.

Duties may include:

 ·         Yard maintenance

 ·         Brush / tree clearing

 ·         Cutting, splitting and stacking firewood

 ·         Building and fence construction and repair

 ·         Other duties as assigned


This is a full time position for the summer, until the snow flies, with a possibility of turning into a permanent position. Starting rate is $18.00 per hour, with a $100 bonus per 100 hours worked. Aerobic composting requires the introduction of oxygen to compost piles to allow microbes and living organisms to thrive. Blossom end rot is when the side of the fruit that attaches to the plant begins to shrivel and rot. This can happen on some or all of the fruit on a plant. Thankfully, blossom end rot is not the result of a virus or disease, but is generally caused from a lack of calcium.  An organic solution to avoid blossom end rot, is to add crushed eggshells when you transplant your seedlings. The calcium in eggshells is 90% absorbable, and is probably the best natural source of calcium that we have available to us. And it’s free! Collecting and preparing eggshells is as simple as 1, 2, 3… 1-       Save your eggshells in a large bowl on your counter as you use the eggs. 2-       Leave the shells in the bowl to dry. 3-       Crush the eggshells into small pieces by hand or with a food processor / blender.
