Sunday, March 9, 2025 - Planting Dates for Zones 3 +4
A ‘hardiness zone’ refers to a geographic area with its own range of climatic conditions relevant to a plant’s growth and survival. Hardier plants can survive in a wide range of zones, whereas some picky plants will only grow in one or two zones. Canada is divided into at least nine growing zones, and the Greater Edmonton Area is defined as Zones 3 + 4.
To help you determine when you should plant, below is a vegetable and herb planting schedule for zones 3 + 4.
