Sunday, June 7, 2026 – In the Garden This Week

Here is an update of some of the happenings in the garden this week:

New Garden Plots Still Available

We rented a few of the new pots, but there are still a bunch available for rent. If you are an existing gardener with us, we can simply amend your current lease agreement to include the new ones. New gardeners will have to complete and sign a new lease agreement.

Free Chicken Wire

We have been given a bunch of chicken wire to dispose of, and there is still some available. If you want some to make a pea or bean fence, or perhaps need some at home, just ask and it can be yours. There is a limited quantity, and it is offered first-come-first-served. So act quickly!

Second Round of Commercial Rototilling Completed

The second round of commercial rototilling was completed today (Sunday). Another 10 plots were done, so the discounted price applied. It is unlikely that we will be able to achieve the volume required in the near future for the discounts to apply, so expect to pay full price.

Garden Temporarily Closed to Vehicle Traffic

Due to the massive amount of rain received during the recent rain storm, the garden driveways are soft and muddy, with standing water in some spots. To avoid damage to the fields and your vehicles, the garden will stay closed to vehicle traffic. We anticipate that this restriction will be in place for at least the upcoming week.
