Hello everyone,

Some gardeners are asking about fall rototilling. The contractor we used in the spring is willing to come back to rototill at $105 per plot ($100 + $5 gst). There is no minimum amount of plots required, so no waiting for a price discount. We hope to begin rototilling during the first week of October.

You need to remove your plant matter before the rototilling, so it does not plug up and / or damage the machine. Small bits are ok, but the main parts must be removed in advance.

If you are over-wintering perennial plants, you must clearly identify where they are in your plots so they don’t get churned up.

We are also able to sell you aged chicken manure spread on your plot at $50 per cubic yard. There is no gst on bulk manure. Keep in mind that it is best to apply the manure before rototilling, so order early so we have time to spread it.

As per our policy, all services must be paid in advance, so order early to avoid disappointment.

    We have had several reports that deer have been feasting in the garden at night. While annoying to be sure, it is a fact of nature that we just have to deal with pest control of one kind or another. Sunday, April 26, 2026 – Expanding the Garden Part 2

  Two weeks ago, I detailed some of the problems encountered while expanding the garden, like wet snow on the field and frozen ground.
