Saturday, September 26, 2026 - ILLEGAL DUMPING IN THE COMMUNITY GARDEN

 

Hello everyone,

Person or persons unknown have been dumping items illegally in the garden. This has got to STOP IMMEDIATELY!

·         Compost

Someone has decided to start their own compost pile next to the garbage can in Field Two. In what universe did you think this would be OK? Especially since we have offered to place a free compost bin next to your plot for you to use.

·         Dirty Diapers

A dirty diaper was found in a compost bin next to a garbage can. We suppose you think we should thank your lazy ass for getting it that far, but we won’t. If there is a next time, hoof it the extra TWO STEPS to put it in the garbage can! Or better yet, take it home with you. We don’t want your crappy diapers here.

 

·         Garbage Litter

We provide six extra large garbage cans throughout the garden for you to use. Either walk your lazy ass and carry your garbage over to one of them or take your garbage home with you!

 

·         BE ADVISED THAT THERE IS ZERO TOLERANCE FOR BREAKING ANY RULES OF THE GARDEN.

There will not be any second warnings or forgiveness forthcoming… violate our rules and you can expect to be kicked out of the garden and banished for life.

While annoying to be sure, it is a fact of nature that we just have to deal with pest control of one kind or another. Here are some ideas that you can use to help keep the deer from snacking on your treasured plants… Choose Deer-Resistant Plants While hungry deer may eat just about anything, they tend to avoid prickly and fuzzy foliage . Sunday, April 26, 2026 – Expanding the Garden Part 2

  Two weeks ago, I detailed some of the problems encountered while expanding the garden, like wet snow on the field and frozen ground. We overcame those issues and moved on to Step 2: ·         Remove remaining fence posts ·         Install new garden plot posts ·         Install new driveway gates   The work was proceeding nicely, then Mother Nature decided to humble us once again, by stirring up a spring squall.
