Thursday, September 10, 2026 - End of Garden Season Update
Hello everyone,
· Just a reminder that this year’s garden season ends on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.
o By this date, you are expected to harvest all of your vegetables, and to remove all plant matter from your plot(s).
o If you plan to keep your plot(s) and return next year, you are permitted to bury the plant matter as compost. You may not just leave it on the surface of the plot as this may encourage animal scavenging or rodent infestation, and the chance that the wind will blow the leavings all over the place creating quite a mess.
o You must ask for and receive permission to harvest after September 30th in case you want to wait until after the first frost.
· To assist you with your clean up, we are offering the use of Temporary Compost Bins. It is a Free Service… here’s how it works:
o You clean up and pile your plant matter at the inside edge of your plot(s).
o Text us requesting an appointment to use a temporary compost bin.
o We will place a bin at your appointment time and you must immediately fill it that same day.
o The bin is the same size as a water tote.
o We will remove the full bin and dump it for you.
o You may request the service for as many times as you need.
· Beginning on October 1st, we will be picking up the water totes to put them into winter storage.
o Use up your water prior to this date; any water remaining in the totes will be dumped on the ground.
o For those that have a credit balance in their water account, that amount can be used to pay next years fees. If you are not returning, then we will refund you your money.
o If you have provided your own water tote(s), you may leave it (them) on your plot(s) at your own liability and risk, provided you are returning next year.
